Terms of service

ShelfAtlas is operated by Henrik Lambert, Odense, Denmark, as a personal project — it is not a registered company (yet). The service is a catalog API, plus related sites (including consumer "skins" such as maxbuddy.app), that aggregate publicly available Danish retail offer information — prices, offer periods, and product data as published by the retail chains.

The platform is in early access: it is offered as-is, free tiers may be rate-limited or changed, and features may evolve or be discontinued. These terms are deliberately short and will be replaced by fuller terms before paid plans launch.

Your account and keys

• Keep your API keys secret; you are responsible for traffic made with them.
• One account per person or organization; don't evade rate limits with multiple keys.

Personal and commercial use

The Free and Hobby plans are for personal, non-commercial use by an individual — your own projects, home automation, experiments, and things you build for yourself. Use by or on behalf of a company or organisation, and use inside a product or service you sell, requires the Standard plan or higher.

This is not a technicality we invented to upsell you. ShelfAtlas is early-access software run by one person: on the personal plans we reserve the right to change, rate-limit or break the API at short notice, and we would rather say that honestly than pretend otherwise. The commercial plans are what pay for the restraint — if your business depends on this API, you should be on one, and we should owe you more notice than we owe a hobbyist.

If you are unsure which side of the line you are on, ask us before you build. We would rather answer the question than revoke a key.

Acceptable use

Use of the API is additionally governed by our Acceptable Use policy. We may suspend or revoke API keys, with or without notice, for breach of these terms or that policy.

The data

Offer data is compiled from publicly available retail catalogs and refreshed regularly; timestamps returned by the API reflect when we last ingested the underlying data, not necessarily when the retail chain itself last updated it.

Prices and offer periods are the retail chains' own statements and can contain errors — chains make typos, and our normalization is imperfect. The price and offer period the chain itself publishes is what applies — verify with the retailer before relying on an offer (see our live status page for freshness). We provide no warranty of accuracy or availability during early access.

Some product imagery available through the service and its consumer sites is AI-generated illustration, marked as such where displayed, and may deviate from the actual product or its packaging.

Trademarks

Product names, chain names, and logos referenced by the service belong to their respective owners. They are used nominatively — to identify the products and retail chains the data is about — and no affiliation with or endorsement by those owners is implied.

Changes and termination

We may change or discontinue the service at any time while it is in early access. We may update these terms; material changes will be announced on this page with a new date. Danish law applies, and disputes are resolved by the ordinary Danish courts.
